John Shenton

CLINICAL SPECIALIST PHYSIO, MANUAL PHYSIO, REHAB PHYSIO, CLINIC DIRECTOR
John Shenton qualified from Leeds University in 1989 and has extensive experience in musculoskeletal medicine. He has worked in some prestigious London teaching hospitals, and headed up the department at the Ministry of Defence Medical Centre. Before moving to Ireland in 1998, he worked as a clinical specialist for a number of large private clinics in central London and in a consultative capacity for several professional soccer and rugby clubs.

John has been a partner in CityPhysio since 1998 and has worked hard with founding Partner, Margaret Hanlon, to develop the reputation of CityPhysio as the gold standard for clinical care and expertise in Ireland.

John is a strong advocate of evidence based treatment and continues to develop his clinical skills through attendance of courses, conferences and lecturing to other medical professionals.

He has an Advanced Certificate in Sports Medicine from Manchester University and an M.Sc. in Manipulative Therapy (Distinction) from Coventry University, completing his thesis on the patellafemoral joint (knee-cap pain).

John is a Clinical Specialist in Musculoskeletal Therapy and has a specific interest in the treatment and management of complex knee and shoulder conditions.

John became an Irish Citizen in 2018 (so there’s no getting rid of him now), lives in Harold’s Cross, Dublin and is married with two boys. He can be found lifting kettlebells in the gym twice a week and also enjoys cycling.
