Ciara McKenna

MANUAL PHYSIO, REHAB PHYSIO, PILATES PHYSIO, OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH PHYSIO

Ciara is a recent graduate of KU Leuven in Belgium where she obtained an MSc. in Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy with a specialisation in Manual Therapy. Prior to this, she obtained her BSc. in Physiotherapy at Saxion University in the Netherlands.

On her return home, she obtained a Pilates instructor qualification and looks forward to incorporating this into her rehabilitation repertoire alongside teaching in-house Pilates at Cityphysio. She has also completed a number of accredited courses including dry needling and taping.

Ciara’s focus is on utilising a wide range of manual techniques to ease symptoms and creating individualised rehab programs for her patients. Ciara has a keen interest in treating, not only the symptom of injury but also the person as a whole. She assists in identifying and addressing factors inhibiting recovery with therapy, education and self-management techniques.

Ciara is currently team physio for the U16 girls’ Irish hockey team and regularly travels to international tournaments with the squad.

As a native of County Wicklow, you can find Ciara during her free time enjoying a morning sea swim or hiking the trails of the garden county. Ciara keeps active by attempting her newfound interest in CrossFit, running and cycling and incorporates Pilates into her training to help remain injury-free.
